Research Assistant

A part time position is currently available for a research assistant to help support laboratory research and new product development. Research topic areas are wide ranging and include sulfur chemistry and agricultural biochemistry. Experience can substitute for a formal degree, but a general knowledge of basic chemical and biochemical principles and laboratory techniques will be essential for the successful candidate. These include, but are not limited to, concepts such as molarity, equivalents, various weight and volume solutions, redox reactions, and acid/base reactions. Techniques include weighing and volumetric measurement, titrations, precipitations, and filtration. Familiarity with laboratory instrumentation is a plus. In addition, good math and writing skills will be required.

This is a soft money position and, thus, is temporary (6 months). However, given renewed funding it is conceivable that the position could extend for some time.
